San Francisco Chamber Orchestra

The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra (SFCO) is an orchestra in San Francisco, California that gives small orchestra and chamber ensemble performances in the Bay Area.

The SFCO was founded by conductor Adrian Sunshine. It gave its debut concert in April 1953 in Berkeley's Hillel Foundation. The musicians in the early years were all members of the San Francisco Symphony.[1][2][3] Sunshine left in 1958, moving to Europe.[1][3] Edgar Braun served as music director and conductor from the late-1960s until 2002. In 2002, Benjamin Simon was granted the post.[1][3]
